Have a Vocabulary Notebook
I think the best thing to do if you are learning a language is to start a
vocabulary notebook.
Every day as you read or listen to native speakers and you come upon
a word that you don't understand, write it in your notebook. Look up
the meaning on http://www.dictionary.com, listen to the pronunciation
and practice. Then, write a sentence using the new word and try to use
it in your every day conversation at least a couple of times:)
